Hi. Redditor here, wandering in to your sub because I know very little about this subject and could use some advice.
I'm having a house built in New Hampshire. It's a 3 bedroom 2 level home about 1750 square feet, with forced hot air and propane fuel.
Apparently the default configuration is to install a Bryant Legacy 912S. I understand that to be 92% efficiency and 80K BTU.
Based on some quick research online, it sounds like the Legacy 912S is recommended for more temperate climates. Because NH winters aren't great, I'm wondering whether I would be better served by paying for an upgrade.
Specifically, I identified the Bryant Legacy 915S, which is 95% efficiency and 135K BTU.
Do you think I should do that? Would a bigger furnance consume more propane, or would the higher efficiency rating actually have the opposite result?
Or is what they're proposing sufficient for my size home, and I'm overthinking things?
