I keep reading that AC units are designed to cool homes about 20 degrees difference from the outside temp. There's another good thread here that I read and I understand how it works.
Our central AC unit does really well, it's not that it doesn't cool the house. I'm more concerned that by running it so hard we will damage the unit. Hubby likes it to be 63 degrees when he's sleeping but he works nights so I worry that by trying to keep it at 63 when it's 90+ degrees outside that it will damage the unit.
If it seems to work okay, can we keep using it this way or should we get a window unit?
Thanks!
