Hey guys, I'm working on a custom thermostat just for shits n giggles, but I'm not sure what ratings I should use for the relays. And before you sound the alarm, I'm not new to HVAC or refrigeration, I've been in the field and I know very well how they work and how not to fuck things up. Out of all the contactors I've worked with/replaced I've never seen a power rating or current draw for the coil. I'm thinking 1/2 amp would be reasonable, but I don't want to under do it. Anyone have any ideas about how much these things draw? I know every coil will be just a little different, but a ball park would be fine and I can adjust the rating to cover overages. Any wisdom on the matter would be great!
