Super frustrated...I just rented a brand new apartment with a brand new AC unit and it's not working properly. First, the AC would shut off completely and not turn back on for a day or two. The maintenance guys looked at it today and say everything checks out and it's true...it was on when I got home around 5:30 pm. But the temp was set at 74 degrees and it's been NO LESS than 77 the whole night (6 hours later, with the blinds closed, ceiling fans on, no appliances, sun went down two hours ago). The AC will only run for a few minutes at a time, then the "COOL ON" light will flash (indicating some kind of delay according to the user's manual) and then it will shut down for a few minutes. I've never had this happen in my whole life and I'm sweating my whiney little proverbial balls off! I submitted another work order, but it takes them a while to get around to it (the first time...two days; the second, almost 24 hours). Carrier AC unit (size unknown); Pro1 T855 Tstat unit. With more 100-degree days approaching in Vacaville, I've got to get it figured out or I'll be taking my dog to doggie daycare ($$$) for the next week!
