A York central A/C unit, approx vintage 2003, leaking freon inside from the coils. Technician, company owner, a known good guy, used what I'd call a 'squeaky box' to diagnose. Acted like a Geiger counter. Symptom, it runs and does not call. (not freon/coolant.) He just left and will fwd estimates later today or tomorrow. It's not a super urgent repair in our case.
•My dilemma will be to replace the inside coils and roll the dice that the outside unit holds on for a few more years. vs. Replace both inside and outside coil and compressor units at a higher cost today.
