Hello, my A/C not cooling below 80, staying around 75-78, even though thermostat is set to 70.
My in-law is a HVAC guy, something that I know nothing about, he'll be coming over tomorrow evening to take a look. But I'm curious as to what you guys may think?
Been at this house for about 3 years now, and the A/C has never given us any problems.
This is in Ohio, and our A/C unit outside is a pretty small one, but our house is pretty small too.
I took a look outside and did notice that the wires look a bit janky: http://i.imgur.com/huo9H86.jpg
I'm also not sure what the white pipe is coming from our home, either.
The in-law asked us to turn the A/C off for an hour, then back on to see what happens. We tried that, but it didn't get any cooler. I walked out and looked at the A/C unit and the fan on the inside of it is spinning and it makes sound like it's turned on.
Then, the in-law asked us to replace the air filter, which we did a few days ago. And then on our own we opened the vent area inside and used a vacuum to remove any dirt, dust, and cat hair from inside: http://i.imgur.com/Y5uC2zi.jpg
So, I'm really not sure what could be going on with it. Any ideas would be great, on what to expect at least.
We may look into saving up a bit and just getting an entirely new HVAC system installed soon, but would at least like to make it through this summer so we can save while we're comfortable lol.
Thanks!
