Ecobee3 when on cool mode blows my AC out the ac unit instead of my vents in the house.

Bought a house, not really familiar with HVAC but I did install an Ecobee with PEK wiring in our old house just fine without issues. The inspector told me that we have a heat pump so I tried to install the Ecobee with wiring with a Heat Pump. There were a few things unknown on the wiring vs what we took off the old thermostat however once I had everything installed when I set it to cool after it configured itself it was blowing hot air in the house and my ac out the ac unit. Reversed what it should be doing. I installed the old thermostat back on for the time being and it works normal. There were 2 wires we didn't hook up and they were going to S1 and S2 on the old thermostat. There were a few things on the old thermostat that didn't make too much sense to me on wiring. I had an orange wire going to O/W2 on the old thermostat so I didn't know to put it on W2 or O/B on the Ecobee. I tried both wiring it to the W2 spot and then on the O/B spot both had same results. I feel like there is something I'm missing. I asked an HVAC person and they said that the control board probably need to be programmed to reverse some setting to get it to work. Can anyone help me out here?
