My wife and I are buying a 150 yr old home and the furnace needs to be replaced. The old forced air oil furnace was in need of too many repairs and we were recommended to replace it with a new Thermopride OL11 oil furnace. Any thoughts on whether this is our best way to proceed? We won't have a lot of extra cash to change to a totally different heating system (baseboard etc.)
Are there more efficient forced air options? From what I could tell the OL11 efficiency rating was something like 86. Would propane be an option? Is it even a good option?
Thanks for any thoughts or advice!
