I've looked everywhere in and around the furnace for some sort of circuit board looking device that has a connection to the thermostat to allow me to install the C wire adapter for the ecobee3, i've attached a link to the various areas where there are wires and a possible connection. From what I can tell the thermostat wire is connected directly to the furnace - off to the side of the actual furnace, the wire colors and approximate gauge match up. My only guess would be that back in 85 they didn't have furnaces with circuit boards on this model but I could totally be wrong, even after two hours of research I couldn't find any real information on the matter. Perhaps there's someway to install a C wire without the adapter (?) - there is an outlet below the thermostat that could be of some use…
Any help is greatly appreciated!
