For starters, I'm a first time home buyer and I've recently purchased a new home located in NY/NJ and I need to replace the heating system. The home was built in 1908, is about 2000 sq ft and It currently has an old school octopus furnace (gravity fed) heating system which is extremely obsolete. It was originally a coal system that was converted to natural gas in the 70's. I'm interested in installing baseboard heating throughout. I know I will need to cut out a large amount of areas and walls to make this happen but I'd rather bite the bullet now.
I need some good recommendations on a high efficiency direct vent gas boiler/furnace. Any recommendations on equipment or websites to point me in the right direction? I've read it's typically 50 BTU's per square foot (for the area I'm living in) so I'm looking between 90k-100k BTUs.
