I just want to verify something I have been looking into. I was recently working on a construction (I am an HVAC apprentice who is starting in the Commercial Install Dept.) site with a few of those Mitsubishi City Multi BC controller systems. I have been spending a lot of time on both the Mitsubishi site and the internet overall learning about em, but the one thing that gave me some trouble was actually figuring out what how the mechanism (Phase Separator) actually worked. I've bounced this around some Journeymen I worked with and they weren't too sure. At first, I thought it might be an accumulator of some kind, but then I ran across some info on wikipedia about a vapor-liquid separator. I just wanted to know from anyone here if the device they show on the front page of that wikipedia post https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vapor%E2%80%93liquid_separator is truly the device that is in the BC Controller that creates the separation for the two pipe system they use. Me and a couple co-workers think it looks more like a receiver-drier so I just want to know if anyone here can elaborate on that device in the BC Controller a bit more.
