Good evening everyone!
Due to a divorce, I am leaving my beloved Waterfurnace geo system behind to the ex.
I've bought a new place with a traditional furnace and A/C.
I am going to install an Ecobee (have one with my geo and LOVE it) to try and get as much efficiency out of it as possible.
Some info:
- Location - Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
- Furnace - Lennox Elite G26 (apparently 92% AFUE) - in good working order according to an inspection/test
- A/C - No idea...original to 1997 - working fine according to an inspection/test
- House - 1800 sq ft. backsplit - 3 bedroom
My main question is, if the furnace is already 92% AFUE, will I benefit from an upgrade?
I know on the A/C side of things, a newer unit will be more efficient, use less hydro etc...but then I'd have to change the furnace.
Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.
