So, I upgraded my windows to Marvin and now the house is too warm at night. I can't sleep when it is too warm, so I have a Honeywell portable unit that I vent out the window that works, but not a good permanent solution.
I am debating between whole house upgrade or just a split ductless unit for the master bedroom. The reason why I am on the fence about whole house upgrade is that my old day/night brand furnace is working fine. Ductwork has asbestos and will be expensive to remove.
I thought ductless could by-pass existing ductwork and cool the area I need most and save some money. Is this the right way to think about it? What are the good brands and models of ductless? Mitsubishi and Fujitsu? I was considering Bryant and Trane for whole house AC.
Thanks!
