I recently picked up an ecobee3 to replace my very basic thermostat. I'm leaning toward having someone come in and install it but first wanted to determine if it would be simple enough for me to install on my own.
My current thermostat is a Honeywell 7-Day Programmable Thermostat (RTH2510B1018). When I used the compatibility checker on ecobee's website, I get a notice that: You're compatible, but some features may not be supported. Based on your wiring selection of R, Rc, Y or Y1, G and W or W1 your home is compatible with ecobee thermostats, but you will need to install a new wire or some features may not be supported. So I'm wondering what exactly that means/what features wouldn't be supported/etc...
This is what my current thermostat wiring looks like. What I'm mostly confused about is the R, RC wires. Is it possible that the blue RC wire is really a C wire that was no longer needed once a thermostat with a battery was installed the whoever did it wasn't sure what to do with it?
