Sound coming from air handler -- check myself or call someone?

Background: I don't know much about HVAC systems -- just the basics plus what I've picked up from a few issues in the past. I can understand systems well enough when explained to me.

Yesterday, the air handler for my A/C (and heat) started making a strange sound when the A/C runs. It began sounding like something was rattling around, but quickly became more high-frequency, like something squeaking as the blower spins. After listening carefully, I believe it is coming from the part of the system just past the filter, where the intake duct connects. I assume this is where the blower is.

Here is a short video with the sound. I've aimed the camera at the part of the system I believe the sound is coming from: https://vid.me/zIIH.

Not shown or heard in the video is that the sound tapers off as the system stops (versus stopping abruptly), like it is slowing with the slowing of the blower.

I'm tempted to open what I can easily open and see if there is something obvious, but I don't know enough to know whether or not that's a good idea or even if it would be helpful.

It's a new system in a newly-renovated condo (occupied for five months). It is technically under warranty with the developer, but past experience has suggested it would be weeks before anything is done, even if this is something that would be warranty-related. So I'd like to go the DIY route if I can, with hiring professional help as a second option.

I'd love to be able to provide the model of the air handler, but that part of the tag is curiously ripped off. There is nowhere else obvious I could find it.

Any advice or feedback is sincerely appreciated. Thanks.
