I do residential HVAC installations. I have questions about my expected wage.

I'm non-certified, and I work with two older established techs on their jobs. These are guys who are self-employed at this point. I've been doing this off and on for the past 5 years, and at this point I can perform installations and diagnose most problems.

I enjoy the work, but I'm pretty jaded about how little I earn doing it. I feel like I'm getting taken advantage of, and I wanted to get the perspective of the people on it.

Now, let's say one of these guys was contracted to do a full installation (furnace, coil, condenser). I'm responsible for all heavy lifting, unloading equipment, lugging/fetching tools, hooking up the condenser (wiring/soldering), pulling a vacuum, gas and vent pipe/pvc/wiring on the furnace.

Am I right for feeling like a fucking jackass for getting paid $200 on this job? The other day I got paid $50 for helping out a condenser, which took us 3 hours. It's their job, I get it. But what is a fair wage for the type of work that I do?
