My air conditioner is full of pollen and that tree stuff that floats around. Can I spray condenser cleaner on it and just leave it?

Don't feel comfortable really taking it apart, but would like to avoid a huge charge if possible. The rest of the unit looks good, I just bought the house so I'm guessing they had it cleaned before I moved in and then the tree jizz season mucked up the coils and whatnot.
