Hi all. A few weeks ago my swamp cooler started sounding rough. (Up until now, it's been fine all summer.) I thought it was the belt, so I replaced that. After I did, the cooler ran fine (If maybe a little loud,) for about thirty minutes and then shut off. So I decided that the problem must be the motor. I put in a new motor, and it ran perfectly and quietly for about three hours, and then it turned off.
The motor is a 1hp, 2 speed, 115 volt. The one thing I've seen when googling is that maybe it's not getting enough air and overheating. My father in law helped me install it, and he said there were holes for air all the way around, but he put it in with the power cord on top, so I wonder if the motor is upside down and not getting air.
Any ideas? I'm in Arizona and desperate and trying to not have to afford a repair bill or electrician
Edit: Cooler is about two or three years old. It's a mastercool, if that helps.
