I installed a Nest thermostat about 6-8 months ago, i did it myself, matched the wires and so far it cooled and heats well. Recently, i noticed the house isn't warming at night. I'll set it to 78 and the furnace wont turn on and it wont heat, the temp drops from 76 to 74. I see pilot to my furnace turn on and then switches off shortly after it turns on, and the air being blow is not hot, even though the heater is turned on (Nest screen is orange) and set on 78.
The Nest itself seems to be triggering the furnace. At first i was guessing it was my wifi/thermostat now i am guessing its my furnace that might be the problem? Or could it be the wiring to the thermostat? It heats during the day time and it was heating just fine this evening. This started around 9pm.
Any suggestions? Should i just replace me Nest with my old thermostat? I really enjoy the smart thermostat but if it won't work properly i can't afford to keep it, a second baby is one the way next week and i need to make sure the heater works.
(I plan on calling a HVAC tech also tomorrow morning, just wrote this to get some ideas).
