We live in Chicago. According to the booklet we have, the Fan Blower we have is a FB4CNF. The company that installed the AC took out the fan so I no longer have the serial number or model number of the fan.
We tried to turn on our whole house fan the other day and it wouldn't turn on. The A/C unit outside turns fine. But the blower for the air handler underneath the house just would not turn on.
We called the people that installed it and they said that the motor was bad and that they'd see if it was covered under warranty. Today they called back and said that the motor would not be covered under warranty and that it would be $375.
Apparently Carrier refused the warranty because the motor showed signs of overheating.
First, is this something that is not normally covered by the warranty? And second, what could cause the overheating?
