I just bought a new house and was wondering if the duct sizing in my rooms were the correct size. The reason I'm even looking into this is I noticed a lot of air coming in from one of my bedrooms. I have 3 bedrooms. 2 rooms are 10' by 10' and the master is 12' by 12'. One of the 10' by 10' rooms has a 7" duct. The master and the renaming room has a 6" duct. As you can guess the room with the 7" is blowing a lot of air. I had a tech out and questioned him about the duct sizes and how I thought that they were odd and he said that it was by design from the builder. He said he could install a damper to limit some of the air going into that room. I said ok and they are going to order the part and Install it in the near future. The company the tech works for is also the hvac contractor for the builder. I'm just wondering is this is normal?
