High system pressure last year and normal this year?

TL;DR: High pressure last year. Normal pressure this year. Is there some shady B.S. going on or is this possible?

I have two somewhat older AC systems (between 10 and 15 years old). Last year, during the middle of summer, both systems went out because the start capacitors both blew. While the tech was here he mentioned that there were somewhat higher than normal pressures.

Earlier this week, I had the same company (but different tech) come out to check the systems and he mentioned that both systems had totally normal pressures.

Is this possible? Or is something shady going on?
