Been searching for a new AC unit the last few days and overall it's tough for the layman to know what to pick and if they got a good deal.
I got 4 quotes, compared them, asked a bunch of questions and ended up replacing my old 2.5 ton trane xe1000 with a new 2.5 ton XR13. I think I made a good choice....
What I'm not sure about is that the two quotes with trans equipment had different coils and I didn't catch it. I picked the (cheaper) one with a 4pxcbu30bs3haaa coil instead of a nominally more expensive 4pxcbu36bs3haaa. What's the difference in the 30 vs. 36? I can't figure it out.
I thought I had asked for and was purchasing a direct fit replacement for what I had before, but they had to do sheet metal work around the box... was that the difference in the two? maybe I made a bad choice?
