In our bedroom, the supply vent for the room is on the same wall as our bed. On my side of the bed I have a night stand which is right next to the bed. On my girlfriend's side of the bed the supply vent is right next to the end of the bed. My girlfriend insists that her nightstand be right next to the bed. This in turn means that the air coming out of the supply vent hits the back of her nightstand. It's an IKEA boxy thing. On the other hand, I insist that she not block the vent with furniture because it drastically increases the temperature in the room by blocking the flow of air. She refuses to believe me. Form versus function; she prefers form and I prefer function. Who's right? (PS: Let's not even talk about the supply blocked by a couch in the family room.)
