What should indoor relative humidity be during the summer?

My system keeps the indoor humidity between 47%-62% during the summer. When researching this it seems like this is on the higher end. Outdoor humidity here (Austin) ranges from 85% in the morning to around 30%-40% in the heat of the day.

I do think my unit is probably oversized; it's a two-stage cooling system, 4-ton compressor and 5-ton evaporator coil on a 1,864 square foot house. I keep it at about 75 during the day but could lower it if needed. It pulls humidity out of the house rapidly when it's on, but it just isn't on that much, which saves a lot of money during our long summers.

Anyway, just checking to see if this is an acceptable range or if I need to do more to lower the indoor humidity. I have asthma and don't want to encourage mold or dust mites if I can help it.
