Baby near the furnace closet question

Got a 6 month old who is going to be moving into her crib soon.

We have a 1 bedroom apartment, with a landing area. That landing area has the hvac and laundry closet located on one of its walls.

We currently have our babies crib on that landing. As we look to have her start sleeping in it, I'm worried about having her sleeping so close to the furnace and C02 leaks.

Am I being paranoid?
