So I was wiring up my new Ecobee3 and I can't get it to power on. Here is what my old thermostat wiring looked like. I popped open the furnace to take a look at the board and here's what I found. The common wire and the yellow wire (not sure what it does) were just trimmed off and wrapped back out of the way. I'm guessing I can just hook them up to the furnace board and be in business, but I wanted to check first before I do something potentially dumb.
In case this is relevant, the Ecobee app that guides you through the install said to measure the voltage between the RC and C should be 24V. My multi meter currently shows 10.9V as things are currently wired.
