Woke up to a cold house (58 F). Thermostat was set to 65. Outside temp of about 20 F. http://imgur.com/a/JiL4m Didn't have time to look at it thoroughly as I didn't want to be late for work. The boiler had power. Zone valves opened and closed as thermostats were adjusted. The circulation pump was running, but the pipes were cold to the touch. I checked the LP tank and it was at 40% full. Our gas range fired up and there was no smell of gas anywhere in the house or outside, so I assumed I had fuel at the boiler. The temp on the boiler gauge read 150 F. So I don't understand how the pipes would feel so cold with the circ pump running. System pressure was about 12lbs. I think that's what it's supposed to be. I shut both thermostats off and the circ pump shut off. I went to work. When I arrived home, I checked the exhaust vent. It was unobstructed and clear. I turned on a thermostat and right away the boiler fired up, I hard the igniter crackle and the flames swoosh to life. Within minutes the house was heating up on both zones just fine. The water temp went to about 210 F and the pressure went to about 20lbs.
Can anyone offer some ideas of what to check or test? I've only owned this home for a year and haven't had time to acquaint myself with this system. I'm fairly handy and understand the basics of how a boiler works, but I wanted to get some feedback here before calling in a professional.
