Hey all,
I paid an hvac company to fix a heating issue I had, but their solution of a booster fan has me wanting to stab myself in the ears lately. It's just too loud. I understand booster fans aren't the preferred method of fixing a problem, but ripping out my floors to replace the ducts just aren't in my budget right now. I asked the company if they could fix it and they told me there's nothing to adjust.
I looked at the fan and saw it was a Tjernlund EF-8. I purchased Tjernland's SC-1 speed controller and installed it myself today, but it is frankly worthless. I think on the lowest setting it slows the fan down from 100% to 95%... I thought I maybe got a bad one, but I see a review online stating the same issue.
Can someone recommend another brand/model? I'm finding lots of fan speed controllers, but they all require a 3-prong electrical cord from the fan, and my fan isn't wired like that.
Thanks for any help/suggestions
