1920's Apartment Chicago Area

I have a 2 Bed 1 Bath apartment with about 1200 s ft. Currently our heat source are a bunch of radiators pretty much in every room. For the summer I install window AC units. I have been doing my research on different Central AC and heat options. I am on the second floor, no attic, 1st floor unit doesn't want any central AC, no duct work whatsoever in the building.

Correct me if im wrong, Ductless is my only option? I would like for my apartment to stay warm, summer I need it to stay cool. Our winters can get really cold and our summers can get really hot. Winters can get to -5 with wind chills -20 at times. I want to make sure I never lose heat during the really cold temp's.

  1. Is it efficient in Chicago?
  2. I use Comed. Will my electric bill sky rocket?
  3. Will my gas bill saving outweigh the electric bill price rise?
  4. I want to install them in 3 different rooms, living, dining and in one of the bedrooms, is that overkill?
  5. Which unit would you recommend?
  6. Should I stick with what I have?

Thank you, any help would be greatly appreciated
