Fans for open air crawl space

I am in the southern US and get a large amount of humidity this time of year. I have had HVAC techs tell me before that I need to install fans to move air through my crawl space.

My home is 1350 sq ft, one story, and was built in 1953. The open air crawl space has two vents (~6" x 12") on each of the four exterior walls, total of eight vents.

I'd like to DIY installing fan(s) if possible. Should I just be installing an exhaust fan to draw moist air out of the crawl space, or do I need two fans, one to push air into the crawl space, and one to draw air out? Are fans even a good recommendation for my situation?
