I like to run it at night since I like to be cold and the evening sun bakes the entire upstairs.
I have a ge 3 speed window ac unit that I would like to run on energy saver mode. When I initially turn it on, it runs fine. The fan works and I hear the compressor running and it shoots out cold air. When the unit shuts off, the room temp reading continues to drop despite the room actually getting warmer. It will say it's 60 degrees when it definitely is not. Randomly, the fan will kick on and immediate the room temp reading will increase. Once the reading reaches the set temp, fan shuts off, so about a minute. Essentially it's running backwards. What would cause this?
