Lost power to RC or C during Ecobee 3 Lite installation, heating fails to power on.

So I picked up an Ecobee 3 Lite to replace my Emerson Sensi WiFi Thermostats and obviously something went wrong during the install, as I currently have no power to RC or C downstairs. I tried reverting back to the Sensi thermostat which I installed in August 2016 with no problem, but it still fails to function. Here's a little background.

  • 1 year old home.
  • I have HVAC 2 units (1 for upstairs and 1 for downstairs).

  • The Sensi thermostat is fine (battery powered), as I've tested it up stairs.

  • I shut off power to the circuit breaker during install (it's possible that the G wire was not 100% seated when I restored powered --- my guess is this could be it?)

  • RC & C wires have power upstairs, just not down.

  • The Sensi (downstairs) fails to power on the heating.

What should I be looking for or what could have gone wrong? I've reset power to both the circuit panel (HVAC1, Heating 1, Heating 1) & also at the Carrier HVAC unit in the attic.
