Goodman unit needs to be replaced in less than 10 years after install?

I have a Goodman package unit (heat pump). This year, my local HVAC repair company replaced the control modules and electric components leading up to the heat pump. Last year, it was the blower motor. The year before was a relay. Currently, the unit will not hold freon because the coil has a pin hole.

Goodman touts a 10 year warranty, but the unit was not registered within 60 days of purchase.

I currently have a $3800 estimate to replace the coil, or a $6000 to replace the unit.

I suspect there are issues with installation which is why I've had so many problems throughout the years.

This 5 ton unit on a 1500 square foot house is more than I need, also I am considering going with a central unit (no heat pump) package unit.

So these are the questions that I have:

Is it even worth it to replace the coil in what seems to be a failing 9 year old Goodman package unit?

What most cost efficient way to get a decent unit in this house? Would 4 ton be sufficient? Would 3 ton be sufficient?

I plan to get estimates from another HVAC company this weekend. I currently have BBB complaints against the installer and Goodman. IMHO I shouldn't have so much component failure on a unit that's not even 10 years old.

Do you see this often with Goodman? What is the most cost effective way I can get air in my house for this hot southeast Louisiana summer? I'm also trying to sell the house and not having air in the house is not great for selling a house at all!!
