Have a Frigidaire window unit (not too old) to cool my apt. and notice the compressor kicks on and off more frequently then I believe it should. About 5 minutes on 5 minutes off approx. Not sure if this is just how its is designed or if there might be a problem. Do most window shakers operate like this? I know this isn't how a regular a.c. should work so I'm wondering if this is built into the control scheme or maybe I need to open it up and see if there's a problem.
