I have a house in the part of the states where it gets super humid and hot. There are two units that cool my house and recently my upstairs unit has been on the fritz. They both are goodman systems according to a friend that came out. He told me that they are pieces of crap and I should be looking to replace them. Problem is I don't necessarily have the money now for a new one and I don't want to finance.
The unit itself I had checked out and he said he had a hard time finding anything wrong besides this high pressure switch that he said was broken but he fixed it. The unit is still loud as all get out and it is not cooling off upstairs. What should I do with the upstairs unit until I have the money to fix it? My wife thinks it should run even though it's not cooling. I think it should be set to fan only and leave it.
Any profession advice you can give me is appreciated
