Recently moved into a house with an electrostatic filter. I've never had one before. Since the AC has been kicking on recently we hear loud "zap" or "pop" noises coming from near the return (which is near the utility room that houses the unit) is the electrostatic filter the source of the sound? I had the air ducts cleaned a month ago and I rinsed out the filter cartridge at that time. Am I supposed to do something else to upkeep this filter? It has a metal pre filter and the light glows orange on the unit. Thanks!
