turned on the AC for the first time in a year yesterday, and it was working for about 10 minutes before it stopped. i tried flipping the switches to turn the system on again, resetting the thermostat, changing the batteries, examining the wire connections, and checking/resetting the fuses; no luck, the blower won't start up, and i don't hear any activity from the actual AC unit outside. then i tried turning the heater on, and nothing happened so i figure the problem must be with the blower or the wiring, and not the AC unit itself. i plan on installing a new thermostat later today (the current one is about 20 years old), but i don't think that is the issue.
is there anything else i should check for? any advice would be really appreciated.
