One of two Time Delay 30A fuses blew yesterday after 3 years of use with no problems.

Hello, We have a Johnson Conrtols Home AC Unit on our roof which stopped working yesterday, but started working when we replaced the blown fuse in the 220 Junction box. New fuse is working fine, and I know AC was on all day yesterday. Having worked in electronics I wonder why that fuse blew and if its at all normal. Ive read that during brownouts power companies can reduce the voltage going to homes which will cause higher current draw, but so far thats my only hunch. I wasnt involved in the installation except for the thermostat wiring, and just want to be sure that this isnt a symptom of something bigger.

Thanks in advance!
