Previous residents had cats. Basement corners were covered in dirt and debris, when sweeping it up it unearthed an unbearable cat pee odor.
When we run the furnace/ac, there is a cat pee/feces smell coming through the vents. This has been going on for months. I thought it might be a problem with the ductwork, but when I squat down near the furnace and blower unit I'm hit with the smell. I'm not sure if it's coming from the furnace or if there is more pee debris under and around the furnace?
It's a gas furnace. I'm not sure where the pilot light is. Is if safe to stick a vacuum hose under it? What about spray the area with Odoban (incredible odor remover)? I'm not sure how to proceed.
