So I bought my first house about 3 months ago, living in Houston Texas Nd we had a very cool spring, and the ac worked what I thought was perfectly. It got warm and the ac very quickly basically stopped cooling the house. I immedieately cleaned the coil and replaced all my ducts. The coil airflow was probably at 10%!!! O.o it flows much better now. A few days later I also cleaned out the condenser coil with was probably in about the same condition... but much better now. Before those cleanings with outside temps of 90+ my Ac would run 24/7 if I left the ac at 78. The temperature would not get below 80 at night, and during the day it would steadily raise with the ac running. Now it cools but very slowly, I may have found culprit but I'm not sure what would cause it or if it's even an issue. So I was hoping for some professional opinions please.? Where the cool line goes into the evaporator coil... it is distributed and caped at the end. Like this pic http://cdn2.hubspot.net/hub/88935/file-15928280-jpg/images/hvac-air-conditioner-evaporator-coil.jpg?t=1467375780625 Except mine is distributed to 3 smaller lines not 4... now let's number them with 3 being the closest to the cap and furthest from the fan (exiting air side of coil ), and 1 being the furthest from the cap ( entering air side of the coil ) The main refrigerant line is cold to the touch, line 1 is warm line 2 is coldish... and line 3 is equivalently cold as the main line... Is this a clogged line issue.? Low refrigerant issue.? Normal.? Please help me as my electricity bill hase almost trippled the past month! Thank you so much guys
