So my friend called me up and told me his condenser wasn't working and his dad wants me to come check it out. I told him i can't assure i can get it running but i can try. So i go to his house and sure enough the condenser wasn't turning on but the IBM would turn on. My friends dad kept telling me the contactor for the condenser was bad so i went to the thermostat and jumped the R and Y. Surprisingly the unit turned on and started to run...Here's the part where im confused. All i did was jump to check if the contactor was working properly but apperantly i fixed the problem. I shut the unit off, waited for the delay, and everything worked fine. They mentioned that ants were all over the condenser so im not sure if that might be the problem. Im really interested to know what happened in this situation, any ideas???
