I have 2 systems in my house and the upstairs systems had a bad evap coil. I choose to replace the whole system due to some other issues that I had begun to notice (system was off balance and had a mediocre temperature split, even when charged). I kept the old system (minus the evap coil) so that I would have parts for the remaining system (exact same system). I have plenty of room to store the furnace and condenser unit in my garage, but I need to know if there are any precautions I should take in storing these. Should I cap the lines to the furnace or condenser? I live in the dessert and have very little humidity if that makes any difference.
