Running into an interesting issue. Lately we're running into an issue where we can turn on the AC but the compressor won't turn on. You can hear the blower and feel air moving but the compressor fan won't turn. If you listen you can hear a whine from the compressor but the fan isn't turning.
However, if we then turn off the AC and flip the circuit breaker (it's not tripped) and then turn on the AC again everything works fine. It's only after we turn the system off that we seem to run into problems the next time we turn it back on.
For background, our compressor was recently moved to fix a leak in our roof (compressor sits on the garage roof) and so they had to disconnect it and then reconnect it. Because of that, the system should be fully charged so I don't think it's an issue of low pressure/tripping breaker.
Any ideas what could be causing it? Also, what would we be "resetting" by toggling the circuit breaker? I wouldn't think the system would have any sort of "memory".
